ASUNCION, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay will meet Greece in a friendly next month as part of its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the South American country's football association said on Friday.

The match will be played in Athens during the next FIFA international window on March 27, the association said.

It will be followed by a previously announced friendly against Morocco in Lens, France, four days later.

The matches will provide one of the last opportunities for manager Gustavo Alfaro to test his squad ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The Albirroja will play its first match in the tournament against the United States in Group D on June 12.

It will also face Australia and a yet-to-be-confirmed qualifier. It will be Paraguay's first appearance in football's showpiece tournament since the 2010 edition in South Africa, where it reached the quarterfinals for the first time.
