SAO PAULO, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- OGC Nice center-back Robson Bambu has joined Corinthians on a year-long loan following his recovery from a serious knee injury, the Brazilian club said on Thursday.

The 24-year-old has not played for more than a year, having undergone reconstructive surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Corinthians confirmed the deal with a brief message welcoming the defender on social media.

Robson has made 23 first-team appearances for Nice following his arrival from Athletico Paranaense in July 2020.

Corinthians have also signed former Barcelona midfielder Paulinho and experienced full-back Bruno Melo in the past week.
