Valencia signs Brazilian teenager Thiago Carleto

Spanish football giants Valencia Wednesday announced the signing of left-back Thiago Carleto from Brazilian club Santos.

The club said on its website that Thiago Carleto, 19, has agreed to a contract until June 2014.

Valencia did not reveal financial details, but the sports daily AS suggested that the transfer fee will be around two million euros ($2.58 million).

Valencia have been looking for a new left-back for several months due to the poor form of Emiliano Moretti and constant injuries suffered by Asier del Horno.

According to AS, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea were also interested in the youngster.
