Brazilian floods sweep away people and houses
Brazil News.Net Monday 24th November, 2008
Nearly four dozen people have been killed in floods that have caused immense damage in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
The death toll is expected to rise as rescue workers sift through the wreckage of the flooding.
Four cities were reportedly hit particularly hard by the flooding, washing out roads and destroying some 20,000 homes.
It has been difficult for authorities to bring in relief supplies or rescue workers so aid is being delivered to some areas by helicopter.
