US box office takes nearly 8 million for Bangkok thriller

In the US, Nicolas Cage's 'Bangkok Dangerous' topped the weekend box office, with an earning of 7.8 million dollars.

It narrowly edged out the DreamWorks/Paramount
'Tropic Thunder,' which made an estimated 7.5 million dollars, according to studio estimates.

Campus comedy 'The House Bunny' came third after earning 5.9 million dollars while 'The Dark Knight' landed the fourth spot, raking in 5.7 million dollars.
