Republican McCain says he would appoint Democrats

Brazil News.Net
Monday 8th September, 2008

Republican presidential nominee John McCain has said that if he is elected president, he will appoint Democrats to his Cabinet.

CBS's "Face the Nation" program has quoted Senator McCain as saying that he wanted the best people to tackle the nation's toughest problems regardless of partisanship.

He said: "When we do all the town hall meetings and people, say I've lost all trust and confidence in government, they don't say, I've lost confidence in Republicans, Democrats. They've lost confidence in everybody. The way you restore it is obviously to have a very bipartisan approach."

When asked if it meant he would appoint Democrats to his Cabinet, McCain said, "Yes, of course."

The Arizona senator said he expects Congress to return to Washington this week and spend the next month in gridlock before handing off the budget for the next Congress to tackle.

He said that would leave Americans even more disillusioned, "if that's possible."

McCain did not say how many Democrats he would appoint to his Cabinet, but he wouldn't be the first president to cross party lines.

President Clinton chose former Republican Senator William Cohen as his defense secretary.

President Bush picked former Democratic Rep. Norman Mineta to be his transportation secretary.

Probably, McCAIN means (I) Sen. JOE LIEBERMAN will be appointed to join his McCAIN-PALIN administration’s cabinet.
These are Reserved seats ...
1) a white Conservative DAN QUAYLE as US Secretary of State.
2) a white Conservative JACK KEMP as US Secretary of Commerce.
3) re-appointe US Ambassador to Philippines KRISTIE KENNEY.

Yes he swings all of the time. That is the way to unify. They have to work together. He understands being trapped in a foreign country. Wanting to come home.

He can understand the language that it takes to get it done. The importance of good diplomacy. Good foreign policy, and he has a good idea of the depth of what it will take to repair what we have. I think you’ll find that Palin excells at this sort of thing.

I’ve never known him not to cross a border of sex, or race, bipartisan barriers.
Could it be that what seems to be causing A. to hold back is the word conservative?

Those of us who do not have children over seas need to pass our votes to what we believe is best for them and not to pick an easy end that may harm them. There has to be a real exit plan, one that has been engineered to work. Anything less is plain selfish. Forgive my little Injiana there.

I have seen the other guys popular thing going on but in reality there are men on the ground who know. If we try to pull something over on them the story will just be told later. To be on the ground and fight for something stays with you for life. My Dad taught me that and then I learned myself.
