Brazilian police have arrested a second man and recovered important artworks that were stolen from Sao Paulo’s Pinacoteca Museum.

The stolen original works, both of them by Brazilian artists, were taken, along with two Picasso prints.

The Picasso prints had been insured for over 5,000 euros.

While one Picasso was recovered last month, another is still missing, believed to have been taken by another robber who is still at large.

The recovered works were a print titled The Couple by Lazar Segall and a painting, Woman in a Window by Emiliano de Cavalcanti, who is one of Brazil's most renowned painters.

The two works are valued at almost 413,000 euros.
