Hanoi, Aug 2 (Xinhua) Striker Alexandre Pato and half-back Thiago Neves scored a goal apiece to give the Brazilian Olympic team a 2-0 victory over the Vietnamese national squad.

The Brazilian team drew first blood in the first six minutes of the match when AC Milan's young striker Pato received a pass from Ronaldinho and beat the Vietnamese goalkeeper of Brazilian origin Phan Van Santos from a distance of some 10 metres.

It was then the turn of Neves in the second half, who standing outside the penalty area struck a powerful shot to the high far corner in the 81st minute which eluded 1.98-metre tall Vietnamese goalkeeper.

The Vietnamese squad had two scoring chances in the second half but failed to convert either.

The friendly game took place at the national stadium of My Dinh and saw a crowd of over 40,000 football fans, including Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet.
